Country music fans’ help for ‘butterfly’ girl Melissa

COUNTRY music fans in Bury have brought a huge smile to the face of an eight-year-old girl living with a rare condition which makes her skin as fragile as a butterfly's wing. Melissa Boulton was presented with an iPod and speaker station, £50 of clothes vouchers and £50 worth of arts and craft equipment by members of the Dawnriders Country Music Club in their first donation of 2007. The club, which moved to Bury Bridge Working Men's Club in Lower Woodhill Road two years ago, is a charity organisation which meets every Saturday night to re-enact traditional country and western fun while raising money for a variety of charities and individuals. When they heard Melissa's story, they decided she was the perfect recipient for some late Christmas presents to help her enjoy life a bit more.
